The use of reclaimed wood for furniture has been around commercially since the 1970’s. The humble console table is one of the cheapest and easiest bits of furniture to make with reclaimed wood – and is quite often the start of a reclaimed wood furniture collection.
We have searched the web far and wide to bring you this stunning collection of reclaimed wood console tables. Modem and classic, scruffy and contemporary – these 40 console tables should give you some inspiration!

This great example takes two old pillars that were once part of an ornmental fence to support the top of the table. A very interesting and clever reuse of the wood.

We are unsure of what the legs of this reclaimed table once were but they certainly look like they have been reused from something before.

The dark stain on this wood is simply stunning, especially as it has worn in some places revealing the awesome natural color of the timber.

A fine example that has been left to look rustic. The paint peeling off is an effect that many styles of decor cannot pull off – but this room looks great.

Many people choose not to finish their tables with a stain or paint – the natural wood is stunning enough.

A common combination with these reclaimed wood console tables is using wire. It complements the old wood amazingly

Teak is a reasonably uncommon material to be salvaged for use in furniture – it is unfortunatly not that common. However when it is available it looks stunning as this console table shows!

One of the awesome things about using reclaimed wood is that it will often be thick cut – just look at how durable this looks!

The plants ontop of this console table are a great little additon – combining something natural with salvaged wood is usually a great idea.

You can have your table stained if you need to (although it is certainly not required). This console table looks awesome in this dark wood stain.

If you are really lucky you may come across a pecie of reclaimed wood that has some original ironwork attached to it. Any good carpenter will savour these peices – and while they may be a little bit more expensive – the end result is an awesome console table that looks stunning.

You dont have to go nuts with a salvaged console table. This one is made out of pallet wood and is simple, yet attractive.

This again uses the spin hairpin style legs with a solid plank of old timber. It has an awesome urban feel to it.

The hairpin legs sure are popular! They are cheap to make which is probably why they have risen in popularity.

My personal favorite is this one. I love how the big thick chunky planks have been used for the legs. You can really tell that the wood has some age and history to it – dont you think?

This is another great one. One continous plank of salvaged timber has been supported by three smaller planks. You would be hard presssed to find a console table this big made from one continuous peice of wood.

This patchwork console table is 100% reclaimed wood. The timber has been specifically chosen to be bits that still have paint on them – most probably offcuts. This would alsmost certanily be an expensive table, but you cannot deny its beauty!

A salvaged wood console table, with a salvaged timber mirror. What an amazing combination. (See what we mean about using a plant to bring the table to life)

How about adding a wine rack underneath. As we mentioned earlier the reclaimed wood really works well with wire and metal. So this is a great way to incorporate the two!

My second faveorite. One long stunning plank that has been milled into a strip. I love the way tjhey have not tried to shape it at all and have just left the natural bulge in the end of the plank.

Deciding what you are going to put on the table is almost as important as choosing the table itself!

This is one of the biggest console tables we could find. It is made from a single pecice of reclaimed barn wood. Just look at the size of it! Majestic!

Even when you build the entire table out of recyclded timber – you can have a little bit of metal added to it (the corners) just to give it that extra level of depth.

Again – the flowers make this come alive! even if you are not a flower or plant kind of person we recommend you try it out!

If you want to try and stay a bit contemporary. You can find tables with aluminum hairpin legs and a lighter plank of wood to keep that modern feel – despite using 100 year old wood.

This is almost certainly a custom peice – and it is stunning. Some carful preperation muyst have gone into this console table to make sure that the reclaimed wood was not infested with termites in the damaged areas. What an amazing table!

Another great example of a contemporary reclaimed wood console table. Notice how the drawer is a different type of wood to the rest of the table to give a natural contrast.

This one has been fitted with some original iron work. The supports in the middle of this peice are almost certainly not reclaimed but blend in very well.

If you want a more traditinal look to your table while still using reclaimed timber then this example may be just what you are looking for.

And finally – the wild card. Why not have a reclaimed wood console table on wheels? It is a great excuse to get some ironwork that works so well with this old wood. And finally… Flowers!
