Moon White Granite AKA Emerald White/ Kashmir Pearl / Morning Mist Is one of the whitest of white granites out there – usually. Let’s learn a little more about this stunning stone.
Moon white is quarried in Hyderabad, India. It is produced with average production levels, making it a mid range stone in terms of availability and has been quarried for over 20 years.
It is characterized by its very uniform white color that can occasionally be slightly yellowish. It is dotted with mineral deposits that have made amazing grey swirls throughout the stone. It is then speckled with black or occasionally very deep navy blue sections that create quite a mesmerizing appearance.
On rare slabs of the stone the black sections can become a vivid lilac color – which is quite stunning when used in the correct setting.
It has a very low amount of variation in mineral density which means you can be pretty sure your granite will look exactly like slabs you may have seen while doing research. It is also available in exceptionally large pieces should you wish to create stunning single piece countertops.
However it should be mentioned that the yellow tinge that is occasionally prevalent in the white of this granite can on occasion become overpowering. This has led to several people complaining that they have been given a stone that is more yellow than white.
For this reason we highly recommend that if you are unable to physically inspect the slab before your purchase it – that you ask the supplier if it has any overly yellow tones.
It can safely be used indoors as flooring or countertops and is suitable for outdoor applications if you so wish.
