The combination of the stunning natural color and the smooth ocean worn appearance of driftwood, with the elegant design of a chandelier is truly one of the greatest design ideas to have gained traction.
We hope that the delicate driftwood chandeliers below will inspire and spark a little creativity within you.
They are eco friendly, cheap, and most importantly – truly beautiful! So please. Enjoy!

The candle style lights on this chandelier are a great way to combine the natural look of the wood with a natural lighting solution. Using actual candles however is quite a bad idea due to the nature of driftwood being very flammable!

This one for example uses actual candles. While i am sure this has been professionally made – if one of these branches ended up in the candles it could very very easily start a fire.

Now that we have the fire hazard warning out of the way lets take a look at some great ways to get the beauty of driftwood in your home
![hanging light wood](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/hanging-light-wood-1024x727.png)
This circular chandelier has used several bits of driftwood hanging down in a traditional chandelier style. It looks truly stunning.
![lights](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/DriftwoodChandelier.png)
A nice urban industrial style chandelier. Combining the metal chain with a random looking bunch of driftwood has made this a simple yet attractive light.
![timber light](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/driftwood2.png)
two different circular driftwood chandeliers. One in a more designed spherical style, and another in a more sunburst sphere style.
![driftwood lighting](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/driftwood-lighting-1024x726.png)
The interior of these pieces of driftwood has been hollowed out to allow the wires for the light bulbs to be hidden. As you can see it is a simply stunning effect!
![light](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/driftwood-light.png)
A different type of chandelier here. It almost looks like the roots of a tree coming through the ceiling!
![driftwood chandelier (2)](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/driftwood-chandelier-2-1024x969.png)
Several small pieces of wood have been used to make up this chandelier. The have been lightly stained which provides a lovely contrast between the light reflecting off of the wood inside the chandelier and the color on the outside
![driftwood (2)](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/driftwood-2.png)
Why not go a little crazy with your driftwood chandelier? This stunning example gives the impression that it has just been picked up off of the beach and had a light bulb hung inside. (while it has clearly been designed!)
![designer driftwood chandelier](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/designer-driftwood-chandelier.png)
A lovely minimal spherical driftwood chandelier that complements the neutral decor of this room beautifully
![chandeliers](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/chandeliers.png)
A driftwood chandelier has not got to be fancy! in fact this basic one is one of my favorites. The combination of the wood and the metal is amazing.
![ceiling light wood](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/ceiling-light-wood.png)
The first example we have seen that has a plank of wood used instead of individual twigs and logs. It gives the feeling of something you would expect to find in an old wooden ships cabin.
![ceiling light gret](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/ceiling-light-gret.png)
A great example of how you can combined the naturally sun-bleached look of driftwood with silver fixtures to create an elegant and contemporary chandelier made from driftwood
![ceiling timber light](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/ceiliing-timber-light.png)
Another great urban looking example. The simple dual light bulb combination gives an understated feel to the chandelier
![ball light wood](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/ball-light-wood.png)
There is so much driftwood on this chandelier that you can barley see t he light bulb inside. It is a shame this photo was taken in the daytime as I bet this creates some amazing shadows when at night!
![yellow driftwood chandelier](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/yellow-driftwood-chandelier.png)
The bright yellow base of this chandelier starkly contrasts against the natural light color of the timber. It has also been tiered in a typical glass chandelier fashion which as i am sure you will agree looks stunning!
![wooden light](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/wooden-light.png)
Using old rope to cover the wires of your chandelier is a great way to keep the natural look which you would loose slightly if you were able to see the exposed wiring.
![washed up branch light](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/washed-up-branch-light.png)
This contemporary chandelieris literally just a branch of a tree that has been washed ashore and had a few fairy lights intertwined within it. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best – i love this one!
![well lit chandelier](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/well-lit-chandelier.png)
The way the bright white light bulbs shine on this driftwood chandelier creates a stunning effect. The shadows it creates within the light itself are stunning!
![sphere light](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/sphere-light.png)
This chandelier would certainly create some interesting shadows! the shadows that are cast by these awesome natural lights are something that many people tend to overlook.
![sparse driftwood light](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/sparse-driftwood-light.png)
A very minimal and contemporary example here. It gives a very light and airy feel to the room – lovely!
![q](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/q.png)
the way these pecies of driftwood have been tied together with string to form the frame of the chandelier is a great way to combine more natural materials into your lights
![log light](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/log-light.png)
You can kind of see what we are talking about here with regards to the shadows created by the wood blocking the light. It can be a great effect when used correctly.
![light grey driftwood chandelier](http://patscolor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/light-grey-driftwood-chandelier.png)
This one is quite a mish mash! it combines a large bundle of driftwood twigs with the traditional glass beads and lampshades of a normal chandelier!
Is a whole chandelier a little bit too much for your room? Why not consider a driftwood lamp instead?
