The way that the edges of some of the planks in this beds headboard is a great way to keep a room feeling contemporary while getting the effect of historic aged wood.

We cannot tell if these bits of timber have been salvaged from different locations or painted / stained again. Either way the single colored piece looks great!

You dont have to use planks to make a headboard. How about using loads of old fence posts to create something like this stunning example.

And at the other end of the spectrum… You have examples like this daring headboard. Twigs, logs, planks, and beams have all been used in a mishmash style to create a very interesting effect.

The way that the tops of these planks sit at different lengths really catches the eye. Also the mixture of tones in this peice is stunning!

One of the great things about using reclaimed and salvaged materials is that you do not have to stain them at all. The weather beaten and antique look that it naturally has is beautiful enough.

This headboard has been made by using a whole bunch of carpenters offcuts. The wood is not particularly old at all – just because it’s not old does not mean its any less eco friendly!

The lampshades that have been affixed to this headboard are a great addition. The dark stained timber complements the light tan brown of the lampshades incredibly well.

The variation of color and types of salvaged timber in this beds headboard is mesmerizing. Not too sure about the pillow though….

Shaping the ends of these planks into a soft arch shape really softens the overall effect of the headboard. It complements the gentle decor of this room beautifully.

These thick planks have come from a barn. While i am not sure it was an intentional design choice i particularly enjoy the iron nails that are still visible.

This beds headboard has been made from reused shipping pallet wood. A great way to get cheap lumber!

This grey wood has been reclaimed from an old surf shack. Its stunning weather beaten grey color has occurred naturally over the years and has been put to excellent use in this bedroom.

Huge thick planks – which look they have been salvaged from old building support beams dominate this room. The netting and lights that are hung above the bed really help to soften it.

And finally another great reclaimed wood headboard that has lights attached to it. It fits perfectly in between the windows and the slight white paint that has been applied really helps keep the soft and light feel of the rooms decor.

This dark reclaimed wood dresser is a great example to start off with. I like the accent drawer at the bottom which is unstained – quite a stunning effect.

The variety of tones that you get with salvaged lumber is simply astonishing. Even the most skilled carpenter would have trouble replicating this

This is a great example of how simple and understated can often be the best design choice when working with reclaimed materials

How about having a dresser with a mirror on the top – framed in the same reclaimed wood as the rest of the peice.

This one has a massive amount of drawers – the contrasting tones of the wood are simply dreamy.

Another example with loads of drawers – this time smaller shoebox size ones. Remebereing where you put things could be a little difficult so something like this is probably best for storing items you dont use on a daily basis!

Another excellent example of a reclaimed wood dresser with a mirror. They do cost a little bit more – but they are certainly worth it in our opinion.

There is something about using old salvaged wood in a contemporary design style that is just darn awesome.

The black handles on the drawers of this peice really contrast perfectly with the light wood.

The three little drawers on the top of this are a great little addition to an already awesome peice.

This is certainly going to be an expensive peice. Sourcing the wood with this print on it must have been very difficult. But WOW what an effect!

The sides of this dresser have been made using pallet wood – with a different type of timber used for the drawers. Combining the different types of wood adds another layer of interest to an already interesting piece of furniture!

This dresser looks like it could last 100 years. Just look at how solid it looks!

I love the way that the wood has been layered at an angle using the variation in color with a purpose.

Again making use of different wood types to create a point of interest really makes this a dresser to die for.

This dresser has not been entirely made out of reclaimed wood. The side is actually made from new wood and only the drawers are salvaged. A great way of combining new and old materials in a interesting way

Its hard to tell if the drawers have been restained or if the timber was originally like this. Either way it is a great piece of furniture!

Its hard to imagine where on earth they can get all these different colors of wood from. A great peice!

This one uses the same multi color principle but it looks like they have sourced all of this wood from the same building.

A reclaimed wood dresser does not need to look like it is rustic. This is a great example of how a carpenter can make old wood look “new”

The drawers of this dresser still have the bark left on – perhaps reclaimed from an old log cabin. A striking effect i am sure you will agree!

we cannot recommend enough using flowers or plants with reclaimed dressers. It really softens the overall effect. Especially when they are combined with strong metal fixtures like this one.

No one says that you have to use salvaged lumber for all the parts of your dresser. The aluminum drawers on this piece are stunning!

Leather headboards are common in circular beds – they can look a bit too cheesy in some cases . But this one looks super comfy!

In such a regal room, you would think a circular bed could look a little bit out of place. as you can see, that is not the case!

This is the most grand example of a round bed i have ever seen. It is from a very high end hotel in Russia. Just look at those lights!

No dogs on the bed when it is as clean and white as this!
