Aruba dream granite is a wonderful stone with a very distinctive pattern. It is also known as Unikus granite and is quarried in average quantities in southern Brazil
. It is a reasonably unknown granite and is not sold in large quantities despite its moderate production levels. This is possibly because its distinctive pattern can be a little hard to integrate into a rooms décor when it is used as a countertop.
Aruba dream is a predominantly white granite. Its pure brilliant white tones are some of the brightest you will find in any type of granite and are incredibly dramatic. It is occasionally dotted with patches of very light grey but they are not very noticeable – certainly not from afar, and they give a little depth to the white in this stone.
There are also occasional very pale pink or peach patches of color in this stone. They can range from nearly non existent – to quite dominating in their size and intensity.
The amazing white bedrock is intertwined with long spiraling veins of a dark brown mineral which can range in color from a light mocha brown – all the way down to a brown that is so dark It could be considered almost black in color.
This stone has a very high amount of variation within different slabs – even if they have come from the same quarry. The white is pretty consistent between all slabs and is nearly always impeccable.
However the brown mineral veins do vary massively. Some slabs can be lightly sprinkled with them, whereas others can be covered by as much as 40% by the brown color. Both densities create a stunning effect but it is important to get the amount of brown in your slab that you want.
(The color of the brown minerals also vary widely in different slabs – which further adds to the confusion!)
As the veins are not a particularly delicate feature it is possible to get a good idea of what your slab will look like by just seeing a picture from your supplier. And while it is always recommended that you view your slab in person, if it is not possible – you should be ok looking at a picture of your slab with Aruba dream.
How Much Does Aruba Dream Granite Cost?
Aruba dream is a mid range granite and will cost you around $40-$50 per square foot for a 3cm thick slab, and around $30-$35 per square foot for a 2cm thick slab.
If you are looking to create a centerpiece for your room, or something that will catch the eye – this is the granite for you. As you will have seen in pictures, the effect it creates is nothing short of spectacular and will certainly have people commenting on its beauty.
Aruba dream granite countertops will work well with a variety of kitchen cabinet colors. Dark cabinets and natural wood stained cabinets will work very well to create a stark contrast. And white cabinets will make the room appear very “chic” in appearance.
You should probably not combine this granite however with off white neutral colors – specifically creams. As this stone is so very very white it makes the cream look out of place and can lead to a room that looks like it has been haphazardly put together. While this is just our opinion, and we are sure many people may like the cream color combination – it is something we recommend you look into if you are thinking about using cream countertops or walls with aruba dream granite.
